Family Law Lawyer

About Medina Barajas, APC

At Medina Barjas, APC, we understand that family law issues are often complex and emotional. Accordingly, we make an experienced effort to settle cases through negotiation if possible, advising you on best practices to keep situations as peaceful as they can be. With that said, many cases are not able to be handled through negotiation, and we have a reputation for aggressively representing clients through litigation where it is called for.

It’s important to have counsel who can provide a supportive ear to listen when needed, and an assertive voice to speak on your behalf as well.

Each case is different, and we appreciate that your case might have a unique combination of facts; accordingly, we will meet with you to determine the best specific course of action, weighing pros and cons and determining how to maximize your (and our) efforts to produce as beneficial an outcome as the case will allow.

The hundreds of cases that we have handled have given us the experience needed to advocate for you and your family, whether the case is done primarily through negotiation, mediation, or in the Courtroom. We want to help you get to where you need to be, so that you can move into the future with confidence.

Anthony F. Barajas

Owner/Managing Partner
Anthony earned his Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication from California State University of Sacramento with intent to move on to law. He earned his Juris Doctorate from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento while working full time in health insurance compliance. Through his education and work, Anthony has always relished the opportunity to have an immediate, personal impact in his work, and family law is a great avenue for that goal. Divorce and custody negotiations are difficult times in life, and Anthony is happy to have the chance to help navigate these issues with calm attention and a sympathetic ear. Anthony's experience working personally with others has exposed him to a broad range of people and communication skills. His personal background has been invaluable in connecting with people from varied lifestyles and backgrounds. His experience in health law and compliance has given him insight into the direct impact that legal processes have on the lives of those involved, and how to maintain concentration on the "people aspect" of practicing law. When not practicing law, Anthony enjoys playing basketball, spending time with his friends, and trying to keep up with his nephews' video games. He hopes to do more traveling and visit new places in the next few years.

Angelina M. Medina

Owner/Managing Partner
Angelina M. Medina is dedicated to providing compassionate and effective legal representation to her clients. She began her career in family law in 2017, working her way up from legal assistant to paralegal to attorney in just a few short years. Prior to beginning her career in family law, she held several positions that allowed her to serve and support the most vulnerable members of her community, first by supervising custody visits and exchanges and working with foster children and their families, and then by providing support and services to transitional age homeless youth. Known for her empathy and dedication to her clients, Angelina handles a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, legal separation, domestic partnerships, custody and visitation, child and spousal support, domestic violence, and stepparent adoptions. Having been through the divorce process herself, her focus is helping her clients navigate what is often the most difficult time in their lives, ensuring they feel supported and informed every step of the way. Angelina develops an individualized strategy for each of her cases, tailored to fit the unique needs and goals of her clients while striving to achieve favorable outcomes through negotiation, mediation, or litigation when necessary. Angelina earned her Juris Doctorate from Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, after obtaining a B.A. in English from Sacramento State University and a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University. She is a member of the Placer County Bar Association, Sacramento County Bar Association, and the California Lawyer’s Association. She regularly participates in continuing legal education to stay current on the latest developments in family law. When not practicing law, Angelina enjoys spending time with her family and friends. A self-described “nerd”, she loves all things sci-fi and Disney, and can often be found watching movies with her dog Hudson and cat Lily.
